Newport Beach Bayfront Homes

Newport Beach is a wonderful place to find water front properties as the Newport Bay touches many areas of the mainland.  One such neighborhood is called "Balboa Coves" and is located in the most northern section of the bay near Pacific Coast Highway and the Balboa Peninsula.  Many are not aware of this community since the area is very small but offers homes that sit adjacent to the water.  One of the perks of living here is having a private boat slip that often can handle a boat up to 35 feet.  Some of the first homes were built here in the late 1940's with a large majority of them built in the 1950's.  These are classic beach style bungalow homes that just happen to sit next to the bay which also offers a small sandy beach area.

Balboa Island in Newport Beach has two main sections to the island.  The main island is the largest section and is where you will find a large majority of the homes found on this island.  A small section called "little island" and pictured below to the right is connected by a small bridge and is home some amazing water front homes.  For the most part these are homes are very similar and date back to the early 1900's and have lots of personality and charm to them.

Linda Isle is one of the premier locations in Newport Beach where you can find water front properties.  Situated on the Newport Harbor with it's own private bay as pictured below, Linda Isle has a lot to offer for yacht enthusiasts and ocean lovers.  The community is strictly guarded 24 hours by a manned gate patrol who only allow residents and their guests to enter this luxury community.  There are a total of approximately 107 homes in Linda Isle who all have water front access.  Homes located on the interior bay will have the most panoramic views while homes located on the perimeter will have direct access out to the ocean but have more limited views of neighboring properties.

The Promontory Bay community offers direct water front homes with private boat docks that can accommodate large yachts and smaller size Duffy's.  Situated in the Newport Bay, the homes in this area are located on the opposite side of the bay from Beacon Bay and the Basin Marine were many yachts are parked here.  This is a very small neighborhood with a total of 61 homes that all have water front locations.  45 of these homes face towards the main part of Newport Beach and have views of the Promontory Point condo buildings while 16 of the homes are located on Bayside Drive and looks towards the homes situated on Harbor Island Drive.

Linda Island or often referred to as Linda Isle is a bay front community in the Lower Newport Bay area of Newport Beach.  This section of the bay heads out to the Pacific Ocean as it passes by Harbor and Balboa Island.  Situated on the ocean side of Pacific Coast Highway is this premier gated community.  Main of the homes have boat slips with home that normally have around 45 feet of bay frontage.  There are homes located on both the interior and exterior section of the community with interior homes have views of only the bay within the community.  Homes located on the western exterior section of Linda Isle will have what they call "main channel views."

Harbor Island is a unique place and home to only 30 properties that occupies two sides of the Newport Bay.  Homes located on the interior part of the bay have nice water views and come with attached boat docks as pictured below.  The Island is comprised of just one single street that end at a cul-de-sac with every single home sitting directly on the water.  As you drive down the street homes on the right hand side will have the interior views of the bay and homes on the left hand side will have more panoramic views of the Newport Bay.  Homes located at the very end of the cul-de-sac and the tip of Harbor Island have the most sensational 180 degree views of the Bay.
