It's that time of the year again when everyone seems to be looking for a furnished vacation rental property. Most people that call into the office are looking for the months of June & July as these tend to be the most requested and popular months. August and September tend to be little more affordable than June & July if you are flexible on your dates and don't need to come on any specific date. One thing to keep in mind is a thing called June Gloom that we have every year in Southern California where there is pretty much a solid month of overcast skies. The last several years this has occurred in the month of May but this year we have had pretty sunny weather so far so it may hit in the month of June or a little bit later. Many tourists that come to the area are not aware of this and think it's sunny all of the time here. For the most part this is true but we do have that one month where it's pretty overcast.
One thing to keep in mind when looking at vacation rentals is that every agent has their own calendar for each of their listings and it's not generally available for other agents to look at. Thus, the process requires calling each individual agent to see what they have available. This can take a lot of time and energy so it's best to know which property you are interested for faster results. There are some popular vacation rental websites available online that do have a calendar that shows what is available and those are very popular to use. They typically do charge fee's and taxes to use that service so keep that in mind when looking for a vacation rental.
