The Sandcastle condo community is one of my favorite building for a number of reasons. For starters, it's located in a prime area in the downtown section of Corona Del Mar. First, the location is second to none. Located off Alvacado street which makes it way down to the beach from the Irvine Terrace community which is approximately 5 to 6 blocks away. In the opposite direction, you are walking distance to Fashion Island shopping center which is world renown for it's high end shopping with big names like "Neiman Marcus" and "Bloomingdale's" to name a few. Since you are located in the downtown area you are just steps away from the many unique shops and local restaurants that line Pacific Coast highway.
Second, the condos are some of the best values with prices in the mid $500,000 to $700,000 range. It is very difficult to find other condo buildings that offer this prime beach location for these low prices. The condos were built in the early 1960's and offer one to two bedroom units for sale and for lease.
The community has a very nice pool and spa area as pictured below. It's located at the rear of the community is really is a nice play to relax and unwind. Dues are surprisingly affordable for the area and average $367.00 a month which includes water, sewer, earthquake insurance, pool and spa.
Their is also plenty of parking for residents with most units coming with 2 assigned parking spots and lots of off street parking for guests. Currently there are no condos for sale and only one unit being offered for lease. In the last year there has been one sale where a 1 bedroom condo sold for $548,000.
